FAQ
Questions candidates ask us first
The short answers we usually give on a first call.
What does the team culture look like day to day?+
Small, senior, opinionated in a friendly way. We write things down, review each other's work in public, and default to shipping. Meetings exist to unblock decisions, not to fill the calendar.
Is the role really fully remote?+
Yes. Everyone on the team is remote and we hire across US and EU timezones. We meet in person once or twice a year for team weeks, but there's no office to come to.
What does the interview process look like?+
A first conversation, a paid technical exercise you own end-to-end, a working session with two engineers on your submission, and a final conversation with a founder. Usually two to three weeks start to finish.
What tools and AI-assisted workflows do you use?+
Modern editors, LLM coding assistants, LangSmith for AI observability, Linear for planning, and whatever else the team decides earns its place. You get a real tooling budget and time to try things.
What benefits are on offer beyond compensation?+
Competitive salary, equity for senior roles, health coverage where jurisdiction allows a clean plan, generous PTO with a minimum, a hardware refresh, and paid learning and conference budgets.
Do you hire junior engineers or new grads?+
Not right now. Every open role expects several years of shipping production systems. We're a senior-only team by design, though we'll happily point strong junior candidates toward companies we admire.
